Q: Is Las Trampas Pool open to the public?

A: No. The pool is a private club. Only club members and their guests may use the facility.

Q: How many members are there and how do I become a member?

A: Las Trampas pools membership is limited to a total of 200 member families and 40 associate member families. Historically there has been more demand than available spots.  There is a waiting list for prospective members and when a membership becomes available (ie. a current member decides to leave the pool) a spot is offered to the next family on the wait list.  To be placed on the waitlist you must submit an application and a $25, non-refundable fee.

Q: How long will it take to become a member once my name is on the wait list?

A: Typically normal member turnover is such that most prospective members are able to join for the season following their application. However, the wait period may range from 1 to 2 years depending on the number of families on the list.  Contact the Membership Director for more information or an estimate of the current wait.  Most membership transactions occur annually during our spring membership drive before the pool opens for the season.

Q: Can members bring non-members to the pool as guests?

A: Yes. Guests are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a pool member. There is a $2.00 fee per guest.

Q: What days/hours is the pool open?

A: Generally the pool is open 5 months per year from May through September from noon till 8PM.   Exact opening and closing dates vary slightly from year to year and hours of operation vary slightly throughout the season. Updated hours can be viewed by clicking on the "Pool Hours" tab of this website.

Q: How big is the Pool?

A: Las Trampas Pool is 25 yards long x 6 lanes wide with an attached diving well with diving board.  There is also a small wading pool for small children.

Q: Does the pool offer swim lessons?

A: Yes.  Swim lessons are taught by the swim team coaches and are available to both swim team participants and non-participants.  Please visit the swim team website (LTST.org)  or contact the swim team directors for details.

Q: How do I know who is on the Board of Directors and how do I contact them?

A: A directory of current board members  is maintained on the "Contact Us" tab on the website.

Q: Is food allowed at the Pool?

A: Yes food and drinks are allowed at the pool--no glass bottles or containers please. We do not have a snack bar with food/drink for sale (except during swim meets).

Q: Can I reserve the BBQ area?

A: There are two gas BBQ's at the pool for member use. Contact the Pool Manager to make reservations or to inquire if the BBQ area is available. If not reserved ahead of time, the BBQ is for all members to use/share.

Q: Id like to reserve the BBQ area for a party but it is already reserved by someone else.  Can I still have my event at the Pool?

A: Yes. We have a second, portable BBQ you can use. Contact the Pool Manager to make arrangements.

Q: Does it cost money to reserve the BBQ?

A: There is no fee if your party consists of less than 25 people. If you plan on having more than 25 participants there is a fee to offset the cost of additional lifeguards.  Please contact the pool manager in advance to make arrangements for parties of over 25.

Q: I am interested in applying for a summer lifeguarding job.  How do I apply?

A: Contact the Pool Manager or Operations Manager.

Q: I am a current member but my gate access code is not working.  Who do I contact to fix this?

A: Contact the Membership Director for all gate access code issues.

Q: Can I swim laps for fitness at Las Trampas Pool?

A: Yes. Two lanes are reserved for lap swimmers at all times during regular pool hours.  Additionally, there is morning lap swim available for adult pool members (over 18 only) between 5AM and 8AM.  Contact the Membership Director for more information about morning lap swim.
